About the role

We are looking for experienced Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Project Engineers and Contractor's Quality Representatives (CQR) to join our high calibre BMD Urban team, working with senior members of the project team to achieve optimum production and cost outcomes in the Townsville Region. Drawing on your learnings from a successful engineering career, you will be self-motivated to mentor Site Engineers and Graduates to achieve innovative solutions to complex challenges. You will provide onsite engineering services and technical support to fearlessly strive towards safety, environmental, specification, design and contractual requirements. 

Projects include;

  • Land development - Residential and Industrial Sub-divisions
  • Water / Sewer upgrades
  • Road infrastructure for local councils and Townsville City Council (TCCS), and TMR.
  • Defence contracts

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or appropriate CQR qualifications in surveying, quality management or similar qualifications
  • high level verbal and written communication skills
  • minimum four years’ experience in the civil construction industry
  • excellent attitude towards health, safety, environmental and quality outcomes, embedding this commitment in everything you do
  • motivation to achieve value-for-money results
  • previous experience with major tier one or two contractors undertaking similar work (ideally TMR work).
